Health Services expands use of ProVation MD software for GI documentation
from two to four medical facilities
ProVation Announces Expansion Plans to match Hospital &
ASC Market Growth
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, October 22, 2004 – ProVation®
Medical announced today that Fairview Health Services, a leading
integrated health network (IHN), selected ProVation® MD software
for Gastroenterology procedure documentation and coding compliance
in its Fairview Ridges Hospital and Fairview Lakes Regional Medical
Center facilities. The software is already in use at Fairview Southdale
Hospital and Fairview-University Medical Center. On the heels of
this major deal, ProVation also announced expansion plans to meet
robust growth in the healthcare IT marketplace.
“Fairview Health Services has demonstrated a commitment to
advancing patient care and safety, streamlining workflows and reducing
administrative costs through electronic documentation,” according
to Mark Wagner, President and CEO, ProVation Medical. “Their
decision to double the number of Fairview facilities that use ProVation
is proof that our software, which offers point of care procedure
documentation and coding, is aligned with the key enterprise initiatives
of hospitals, health systems and ASCs across the country.”
In conjunction with the Fairview Health Services deal, ProVation
also announced it will be adding sales and service personnel, product
managers and software engineers in line with its strategy to continually
enhance and serve clients using its current specialty offerings
(Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology,
Nursing) while adding new specialty offerings (Cardiology, General
Surgery, Interventional Radiology, others) in 2005 to its multi-specialty
procedure documentation platform, a key feeder into hospitals’
and ambulatory surgery centers’ electronic medical record
(EMR) and billing systems.
"ProVation’s growth now warrants additional resources
to serve new and existing clients,” said Wagner. “With
healthcare IT spending projected to increase significantly in the
next five years, driven by productivity needs and federal government
stimulus, we are positioning to succeed in our increasingly demanding
hospital and ASC markets.”
