Receives Frost & Sullivan 2004 Business Development Strategy
Leadership Award
Scottsdale, Ariz. - July 16, 2004 -- Based on its
recent study, "North American PACS Market," Frost &
Sullivan acknowledged Emageon's deep understanding of the picture
archiving and communications systems (PACS) market and its innovative
growth strategies with the 2004 Business Development Strategy Leadership
Award.
Frost & Sullivan presents this award each year to the company
that has demonstrated excellence in business development within
the industry. Through a combination of vision, technology, and successful
marketing, the company must have created a niche for itself in a
competitive market.
"Emageon has established itself at the forefront of the medical
image management market by evolving from a specialized provider
of radiology archive solutions into a full-fledged enterprise medical
image management vendor offering enterprise-wide image management
solutions, of which PACS is only a part," says Frost &
Sullivan Industry Analyst Antonio García.
The 2003 merger with UltraVisual Medical Systems enabled Emageon
to forge ahead in the medical image management market with a state-of-the-art
advanced visualization solutions portfolio. Since then, it has been
able to provide a broader set of solutions for viewing, storing,
and managing images and clinical data generated by multiple departments
with its Intelligent Visual Medical System™ (IVMS).
Leveraging its reputation for quality and expertise in the medical
image archive infrastructure, Emageon has won the confidence of
customers through its new product offerings, building a strong business
pipeline.
The merger has also made it possible for Emageon to create high-value
growth pathways for its existing customers. In the future, Emageon
plans to add solutions for additional departments including cardiology,
pathology, orthopedics, neurology, and other clinical specialties.
Milton Silva-Craig, President and Chief Operating Officer of Emageon
further explains, "Ultravisual's platform can be extended to
multiple stakeholders throughout the healthcare environment. It
doesn't just move the image from point A to point B, but it also
distributes critical tools much more effectively using a Web-enabled
platform. Not only can we manage very complex data sets and do 3D
reconstructions and analysis within the viewing application, we
also have the ability to distribute essential clinical tools through
the network."
According to García, Emageon's customer-centric product development
strategies enhance the company's ability to retain its existing
customers over the long term as it continues to create additional
business opportunities.
Emageon's successful transition into the mainstream enterprise medical
image management market is attributed to its skilled application
of targeted business development strategies that support future
revenue growth, while simultaneously increasing market penetration.
