ProVation Medical Releases Sixth Generation of ProVation MD Multi-Specialty Procedure Documentation & Reimbursement Coding Platform; More than 3,000 MD Hours Invested in Development


MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 1, 2004 --ProVation® Medical, Inc. announced today the release of its sixth generation of ProVation MD multi-specialty clinical procedure documentation and coding compliance software. Version 4.1 is now available to new customers and to the company’s installed base of over 3,500 clinicians at more than 235 hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). To date, more than 5 Million clinical procedure notes have been created with ProVation software.


ProVation® MD software replaces the inefficient dictation/transcription approach and streamlines the coding and billing process. Driven by deep medical content, ProVation MD allows clinicians to quickly and completely document medical procedures and apply the appropriate CPT and ICD codes, as well as CCI edits.


New features in ProVation MD Version 4.1 include:


  • Close to 1,000 new procedure enhancements and changes to medical content in specialties including Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Pain Management and Urology

  • Documentation Wizard & Physician Preferences features – Innovative new methods for streamlining documentation of cases in Orthopedics, Pain Management and Urology, including multiple maneuvers within the same case

  • Implant Wizard-A new method of automating implant tracking in Orthopedics, Pain Management and Urology New interfaces with DICOM-enabled image capture devices from leading manufacturers Linvatec and Stryker, and an interface with Dianon Systems, Inc. for automated pathology results reporting

  • Internet-based downloading of quarterly coding and content updates that customers receive as part of their software maintenance agreements

  • Numerous enhancements to the ProVation MD patent-pending coding engine
