founder, president and CEO of uMonitor, Inc. Sheth, an entrepreneur,
wireless technology guru and Web productivity expert, led the design
and development of WorldCom's SkyTel Communications' two-way paging
network system, prior to founding uMonitor in February of 1999. Throughout
his 20-year tenure in the technology and telecommunications arenas,
Sheth has held executive and senior management roles with leading
companies, including NYNEX (now Bell Atlantic) and GTE. He also is
co-founder of Software Resource Consultants, a successful software
consulting and development company. Sheth holds an MBA from the University
of Chicago and an MS in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute
of Technology. Sheth earned his BS in Electronics Engineering from
the Maharaja Sayajirao University in India.
Robert V. Bolen, CFA, is chief financial officer
and vice president of business development. Prior to joining uMonitor,
Bolen served as an advisor to the company and has been instrumental
in leading and successfully concluding the company's recent $3 million
first round of funding. Bolen was previously senior securities analyst
and partner with J.C. Bradford & Co., (now Paine Webber), where
he oversaw the Financial eCommerce Services sector.
Widely quoted for his insights into the rapidly changing financial
e-commerce industry, Bolen has over 14 years of equity capital markets
experience, having been actively involved in numerous initial public
offerings. His coverage focus while at Bradford included financial
services technology, such as client/server core bank processing, Internet
banking and online bill presentment and payment services. Bolen earned
his MBA from Indiana University and his BS in Accounting from Western
Kentucky University.
Frances Turner, vice president of sales & marketing,
oversees uMonitor's brand positioning and sales efforts. Most recently,
Turner held chief operating roles in two start-up firms. A 14-year
veteran of the broadband cable telecommunications industry, Turner's
expertise is in strategic marketing and sales and in operations management.
Turner has worked at various cable television service and content
providers in senior level roles, including the following: general
manager of the former Tele-Communications, Inc.'s (now AT&T) Washington,
D.C. cable property, vice president of marketing for one of Time Warner's
cable divisions, and other sales, marketing and general management
positions across the United States with Cox Communications, the former
Century Communications (now Adelphia) and Home Box Office. Turner
holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and an AB, cum laude,
from Harvard University.
Bysakh Bhasi, chief technology officer, leads the day-to-day
development effort of uMonitor's Java-based Web service. A talented
software engineer, Bhasi possesses an extensive background in Internet
technologies. He also brings to uMonitor experience in telecommunications
from Siemens and experience in e-commerce from Federal Express. Bhasi
holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Kerala in India.
Sanjiv Desai, chief information officer, focuses on the development
of the internal information infrastructure for the rapidly expanding
company. With over 10 years of development and managerial experience
in the information technology arena, Desai has managed complete systems
projects for both Internet and traditional "brick and mortar"
companies, including AT&T, accuship.com and the former Promus
Hotels (now Hilton). Desai holds an MPA, BS, and Diploma in Computer
Science from the University of South Gujarat in India.
In addition to uMonitor's experienced management team, the company
also announced its Board of Directors. Along with Sheth, Don Mundie,
Doug Marchant, Pinakini Sheth and Scott Webster comprise the uMonitor
board. Marchant and Mundie are principals with Delta Capital Management,
the Memphis-based venture capital firm that led uMonitor's initial
round of funding. Webster is chairman and CEO of ORBCOMM, and founder
of that firm's parent, Orbital Sciences Corporation. Pinakini Sheth
is co-founder and president of Software Resource Consultants.
