CPS Announces Appointment of Director
of Clinical Services - Correction Division
MEMPHIS, TN (November 27, 2000) - Comprehensive Pharmacy
Services, Inc., (CPS) announced today that Christina J. Barrington,
Pharm.D. has joined CPS as the Director of Clinical Services-Corrections
Division. The CPS Corrections Division is responsible for providing
pharmaceutical care to inmates in jails, prisons, and detention centers
throughout the United States and serves more than 200,000 inmates
in more than 170 correctional facilities.
Dr. Barrington received her B.S. of Pharmacy and her Doctor of Pharmacy
from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy; St. Louis, MO, and also completed
a Clinical Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University Medical Center,
Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Barrington has an extensive background
in the managed care setting. Prior to joining CPS, she was the
Regional Pharmacy Director for Group Health Plan in St. Louis.
Prior to directing pharmacy services at Group Health Plan, Dr. Barrington
served as a Clinical Utilization Consultant for Diversified Pharmaceutical
Services in Bloomington, MN.
Dr. Barrington also has experience as a Medical Affairs Manager for
Searle Pharmaceuticals, and as a Clinical Coordinator of Pharmacy
Services at Prudential Healthcare in St. Louis. She also served
as a Senior Medical Information Associate for Fujisawa USA, Inc.
Dr. Barrington resides in St. Charles, MO and will be based in St.
Louis at Correctional Medical Services, one of CPS’ largest
clients. She will also have additional corporate clinical service
responsibilities for the Comprehensive Pharmacy Services-Corrections
Division throughout the United States. Her professional affiliations
include The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, American Society of
Health-System Pharmacy, American Pharmaceutical Association, and the
Missouri Pharmaceutical Association.
Comprehensive Pharmacy Services provides pharmacy management services
to more than 220 different customers in twenty-five states.
The core service capabilities of the company include total hospital
pharmacy management and consulting and management of one of the nations
largest correctional pharmacy operations.
