Geobot Announces Commercial Availability
Memphis, TN (September 18, 2001) -- Geobot Inc.,
a developer of configurable messaging software, today announced the
commercial availability of its information-switching product, the
Geoswitch™. Following two years of development and successful
customer testing, Geobot enters the integration broker market with
the purpose of providing businesses with a product that can solve
their integration issues today and provide a foundation for creating
and supporting the services of tomorrow.
Regardless of the industry, efficiency and speed are critical components
for success. There is more pressure than ever before to cut costs
and improve operations, but many organizations are frustrated by new
technology that is not only difficult to integrate with their existing
systems, but will most likely be outdated in the near future.
Built on the principles of multi-threaded messaging and distributed
processing technology, Geobot’s software can reliably transform
and route information from any number of disparate systems and applications
to any other in real-time. This offering is further enhanced with
the capability to quickly add and remove functionality during operation
reducing the downtime associated with software upgrades and new service
deployment.
The Geoswitch™ is comprised of two main components: a proprietary
messaging architecture, and pluggable logic modules in the form of
software agents for processing information. The messaging layer provides
the backbone for communication and data persistence between multiple
data sources with the reliability and scalability of a telecommunications
switch. By adding logic such as protocol translation on the message
pathways between the systems, those that were once incapable of communicating
can share information.
Geobot’s Java-based agents can perform more than data translation.
In fact, many of today’s integration challenges can be solved
with a combination of translation, transformation, routing, and aggregation
functionality, all of which can be found in Geobot’s basic package
of agents. As customer needs change, agents can be quickly configured
to perform any number of functions including those that normally require
customization of third party applications. Geobot also provides the
capability for companies who have highly specialized and sensitive
environments (such as complex proprietary processes or applications)
to quickly and easily develop their own agents.
Features included in this release:
Messaging System -- Real-time messaging, Account based access
control, Run-time configuration, Event Management, Fail-over, Browser-based
