Appraisal Forum Acquires Price
real Estate Appraisal Forum, a fast growing, Memphis based residential appraisal and technology company, announced it has acquired Price real Estate LLC of Hernando. The Appraisal Forum has its main office and operations at 6800 Poplar. The acquired operation has been named Appraisal Forum of Mississippi, and it will serve as a vehicle for Mid-South regional growth. Alan Price, a 15 yr veteran appraiser who owned the acquired Hernando firm, has been named director-appraisal services and assumes key management position for regional operations. Vince Dunavant, president and chief executive officer of Appraisal Forum in Memphis, said Price and his staff strengthen the company's capabilities in the Mid-South. The acquisition provides his clients free access to Appraisal Forum's expanding network of certified appraisers and state-of-the-art online technology. Price and his team of appraisers became associated with Appraisal Forum last summer as independent contractors handling appraisals in northern Mississippi. "We saw early on that Alan and his people shared out service philosophy of providing high quality reporting and fast turn around, and decided to combine our operations," Dunavant said. Appraisal Forum of Mississippi will maintain a Hernando office and plans to open an office in Jackson, Miss., within the next six months. Dunavant said the Memphis-based operation, which had contracts with about 60 appraisers using its system a year ago, now has contracts with 250 certified appraisers in 14 states. Those appraisers use the company's electronic system to deliver appraisals ordered by lenders. It also has about 25 appraisers on staff. Appraisal Forum's system saves lenders phone calls, paperwork and physical document delivery costs. It uses a Web-based system for ordering, delivering, tracking and storing residential appraisals electronically.
