ContourMed, Inc. announces leadership
change
Mimi San Pedro named president
LITTLE ROCK – (March 16, 2004) – ContourMed CEO John
Miller and the company’s Board of Directors today announced
that Mimi San Pedro has been promoted to president of the company.
San Pedro joined the company in July 2001 as vice president of sales
and marketing.
ContourMed is a Little Rock-based company that produces lifelike
external custom breast prostheses for post-mastectomy patients.
Prior to joining ContourMed, San Pedro was an advertising industry
executive for 18 years of her professional career. In March 2000,
she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a life-changing year
of treatment and recovery, San Pedro decided to change her career
as well, and became part of the ContourMed management team.
According to Miller, San Pedro has drawn from her extensive advertising
background to become the driving force in creating national brand
awareness for the ContourMed product. Since 2001, ContourMed has
expanded its network of retailers offering the product to more than
100 in 33 states, and has fitted more than 500 women in its lightweight,
custom prosthesis.
Last week, Miller informed the ContourMed Board of Directors that
he will resign as CEO at the end of March to accept a position with
a major chemical corporation in Philadelphia.
Miller says that the opportunity in Philadelphia will take him
and his wife “back home” to be closer to their two
grandchildren and three grown children.
“When John Miller joined ContourMed in 2001, we did not have a finalized
product, any sales revenue or cash flow,” said L. Daniel
Eaton, ContourMed founder and board member. “The combination
of his leadership and broad business skills has transformed the
company
from the research and development phase into an industry leader.”
Under Miller’s leadership, the company doubled its annual
sales last year and is on track to double sales again in 2004.
“When you are responsible for building a company from the ground up,
you experience a tremendous amount of pride and accomplishment,” said
Miller. “As I make this transition, I can’t think of
anyone better to lead this company going forward than Mimi San
Pedro. She has been by my side through every phase of our growth
and I am
confident that her skills and personal commitment will take this
company to the next level.”
